Support Request: Error in registering machines

Reproduction

?

Description

We are about to upgrade our machines to new hardware and now installed v9.5.4033. The autoregistration-file does not get deleted when siteremote-service finishes registering so before i had time to amend this some 3000 machines has been registered (should be four). Does this mean we have to pay for all machines over our licensed amount?

Hello,

There is no bug and the autoregistration file usage with SiteKiosk 9.5 works in the same way like with previous versions.
After putting the file into the folder “C:\Users\Public\Documents\SiteRemote Client” the SiteRemote Client service will take that file to register the machine to SiteRemote and then deletes the file.

When the file is not deleted after adding it to the corresponding folder it means that the machine cannot be registered to SiteRemote.

The reasons can be:
- Wrong data in the “autoregistartion.config” file (login data / SiteRemote Server URL).
- The connection to the SiteRemote Server is not available (e.g. port 8086 outgoing is blocked)
- The user / team doesn’t exist on SiteRemote

Please check (e.g. by creating a new autoregistration.config file with the auto register tool).

Licensing:
Generally you need to have one SiteRemote annual plan license per machine that you want to register and use with SiteRemote on https://www.siteremote.net

But even if you wouldn’t have enough annual plan licenses to cover the number of machines in a team you still can register machines to that team.
What is not working is sending information / data form or to the machine with SiteRemote.
