Support Request: site auto login and other issues

Description

Hi,
we have a customer with these problems:

1) we have a page loaded with sitekiosk that require user and password; after login, the page remain logged only for 24hrs, after this time, it ask again for login credential. without sitekiosk this not happen.

2) in the loaded page (see point 1), there are various link. if we open an intranet link that require login credentials, it save them only if we do not reboot the machine.. after that it ask them again; is there a way to keep them cached, even after the reboot?

3) after i opened an intranet link, all other link that i haven't opened before, are shown with the icon of a broken link and i cannot open them anymore, and i have to reboot the machine to be able to open them; this doesn't happen if i open the page without sitekiosk.

thanks and regards
Marco

Hello,

Unfortunately you just did attach the blank example configuration so that I cannot check your settings.

Generally the SiteKiosk Browser is just using the network connection provided by the Windows system.
But in opposite to a “normal” browser SiteKiosk deletes the temporary internet files & cookies on logout and screen saver activation by default (saving logins is definitely not the purpose of a kiosk software, quite the contrary actually).

You may disable the deletion of cookies in the logout settings of the configuration of SiteKiosk.
But note that this will obviously affect all website you are visiting within SiteKiosk.

Otherwise you may use the default settings for deleting the cache & cookies and use a custom script for login.
Here you find articles about auto login to a web page via custom script:

http://devblog.provisio.com/post/2016/06/22/Using-the-SiteKiosk-Object-Model-for-Automated-Website-Logins.aspx

When using an IE based skin you even can use Windows authentication on web pages that support this (IE) feature.

Hello,

if you want to provide your configuration send it to support-europe[at]provisio.com and refer to this post in the email. Note that Mr. Olbrich has already listed the options you have with your problem. This is either related to your SiteKiosk logout settings or is caused by the code of the website.
