Support Request: Google Chrome Start Screen not starting

Description

We were running 9.2 on machines with Windows 10 via the Internet Explorer Portal Startpage and have recently had to start using Chrome because of a new program we use. The Chrome Start Screen would not work, so we upgraded to 9.7. However, it still won't work.

Hello,

Thank you for submitting your inquiry. The Start Screen files are located in this folder: C:\Users\Public\SiteKiosk\content . Can you confirm that this folder exist? If it does not, try to re-install Windows and SiteKiosk from scratch. Or in an enterprise domain, have your group policies changed for that computer to allow the public folder. On the other hand, you could develop your own local web based start page and place the contents in the folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\Html and then, you could point the Chrome browser to that local start page. Please let me know the results.

Best regards,
Andre.

I have verified that the path you mentioned does exist. I noticed in our skcfg file that it was referencing that path but it said "cmscontent" instead of "content." I changed it to "content" but it's doing the same thing. Do you offer any remote assistance?

Hello,

Unfortunately remote assistance is outside the scope of our standard support. On this issue, you could try a new SiteKiosk configuration file. Since there is a marked difference between the two versions. Please let me know if this worked. [Previous response was updated by Moderator.]
