Support Request: Continue the ticket 19122

Reproduction

Use the attached configuration files

Description

OK, I have reproduced the issue on another PC with the same parameters.
I used the original example.skcfg and made few changes to get the "unable to delete" error.
You also need to update the DownloadManager.xml with the attached version.

Hello,

The problem seems to be caused by the issue that you added the folder "C:\Documents and Settings\SiteKiosk\Moje dokumenty" twice (-->File Manager).

You should remove the above entry at "File Manager" so that only the below entry at "Download folder" exists.

If that still doesn’t help you may just use the default download folder
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\SiteKiosk"

Nope, neither update helps. I have removed the entry and set the download folder to your default. The error persists.

Hello,

Did you also try it with a new configuration?
Just leave the default settings but just activate the File Manager and allow downloads.

Did you check the third party software installed on the system?
(Antivirus…)

If that also doesn’t help please send
- the actual SiteKiosk configuration,
- the current log file
- and a short description about how to reproduce the problem
via e-mail to
support-europe(at)provisio.com,

I cannot do this because the SiteKiosk player does not work with dynamically generated PDF files.

Yes, no such tools for two different PCs.

Well, this is an installation is for a bank transaction site. You need an account to reproduce the exact conditions of the testing.
However, you can simulate the problem in a simple way (using the sent configuration files): just copy a pdf file in the download directory.
In SiteKiosk, open the File Manager , choose "Run" option for that pdf file and then close the document window. Try to delete it.
You shoud get the "Unable to delete this file" error window.

Hello,

I have tested it with using your SiteKiosk configuration and only changed the default download folder to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\SiteKiosk".

There was no issue / problem with deleting the PDF file after closing the document window.
So it must apply to a special issue on your system.

Maybe there are any policies set in your domain preventing the deletion of this file or there is any other process on you computer still having a handle on that application.
(You may even check it with the process explorer tool form Sysinternals?)

Generally you can also activate the checkbox “Delete downloaded files” at “Logout” in the SiteKiosk configuration to activate the deletion of all files in the download folder on session end / logout.

If you want to test it with a new configuration you may just use the actual version 8.7:
http://www.provisio.com/en-US/Downloads/Download.aspx?ItemId=1
With this version the PDF player is deactivated by default.
