Support Request: Allow My Computer / Explorer.exe?

Description

Hi,

I wonder if you can help. We have SiteKiosk installed OK and it is working as expected. We have 3 applications configured - Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Calc.

Security has been set up so that users only have access to drive letters E: through Z: for saving documents to. However, in it's current configuration, users can ONLY access their files by launching Word or Excel and clicking file->open. This is OK for Word and Excel documents, but I have been asked to configure SiteKiosk so that users can now open other file types directly from their USB sticks (PDFs, MP3s etc).

So basically what I am asking is, how can I configure SiteKiosk to allow users to open Explorer.exe (or My Computer) so that they can browse to their USB sticks and double click on files to open them?

These PCs are running Windows 8.1, and when I added Explorer.exe to the list of applications and tested it, it opened to Tiled mode, and I was unable to get out of it again!

Kind regards
Chris Millard

Hello,

For security reasons the Windows Explorer is blocked by default.

But you even can use the SiteKiosk File Manger for this (the USB Stick will be displayed automatically).
Just enable the File Manager in the SiteKiosk configuration.
