Hello,

Generally SiteKiosk is designed to be used with Adobe Acrobat Reader and the SiteKiosk Browser (based on IE Webbrowser Control) is just using the Acrobat Reader ActiveX PlugIn (which is also used in the Internet Explorer) to display PDF files in the SiteKiosk Browser.

But regarding the feedback of other customers using FoxIt Reader works when disabling the SiteKiosk Player for PDF (since SiteKiosk 8.7 the player is deactivated by default when creating a new configuration):

To disable the SiteKiosk Player for PDF:
- Open the SiteKiosk configuration file (…\SiteKiosk\Config\YourConfig.skcfg) with an editor (e.g. Notepad) and search for the line

<filter enabled="true" player="pdf" content="application/pdf" action="2"/>

- Then change the value from true to false

<filter enabled="false" player="pdf" content="application/pdf" action="2"/>

Note that on Windows systems with UAC activated you may need to start the Notepad application as Administrator (right mouse click-->Run as administrator) to get enough access rights for saving the changes.

Then you may first test it in “Run once” mode.

For the “Auto Start” mode of SiteKiosk also make that you can open PDFs within the Internet Explorer while logged in as SiteKiosk user.
Here the information about how to get access:
