Support Request: Javascript Won't Executre

Description

At some point over the past few months we've had users reporting that buttons or links that require JavaScript don't process. We've made sure the domains for these links are allowed. We've tried running this outside of Site Kiosk and everything works without issue. Finally this is the case with IE 8 and higher with Java 6, 7 or 8. Not sure what is going wrong.

When you tested this issue outside of SiteKiosk, was it logged in as an admin and using IE on one of the machines where you are seeing the issue? Does the same thing happen in Start Once and Autostart mode? What is the OS you are using? Please confirm with the site administrator whether the buttons use Java or JavaScript. JavaScript does not require that you install Java. You mentioned that the issue occurs with IE8. Have you tried this with a higher version of IE like 10 or 11?

Sorry for the delay in responding. I'll provide a few bullets on what we've done.

We have tried running this from outside the SiteKiosk account and it functions without issue.

The issue occurs regardless of Start Once or Autostart mode.

Windows 7 with SP1, 32bit

We are waiting to hear back from the site vendor on the version or use of Java in the buttons.

We have tried IE 8,9,10 and 11.


It's very curious this issue only presents itself when the kiosk software is running. Is there anything else that would prevent a cookie from running, in case that is the issue? Also, we provided our config to the portal, was there anything configured that would prevent cookies or Java from functioning properly.

Please provide a link and the steps necessary to replicate the issue. Depending on whether the button is Java or JavaScript based it could be a compatibility setting issue.
