Support Request: transfer to another pc

Description

HI I created a layout on my machine now I want to transfer it to the customers working machine

I thought this would be easy just copy the config file but it don't work how do I transfer what ive done to another machine

also when the screen saver runs I want it to show just one picture that's attached it works once then the time after that it comes on then just flashes a white screen then goes back to the main page I created

Hello,

Generally you just need to transfer the SiteKiosk configuration file (…\SiteKiosk\Config\YourConfig.skcfg). But if you added any additional pictures or use the Start Screen you need to copy further files to the new machine.
Which Start Page design did you choose in the SiteKiosk configuration (-->Start Page & Browser)?


The screen saver of SiteKiosk works in the same way like the Windows screen saver and deactivates on mouse or keyboard input by default.

Did you add any additional deactivation method in the SiteKiosk configuration?
Which screen saver did you choose?
Is there a difference between “run once” and “Auto Start” mode?
How is the behavior on Windows (without SiteKiosk running) with using any Windows screen saver?
Which information is given in the SiteKiosk log at that time?
(…\SiteKiosk\Logfiles\...)

Also note that you should store the picture (file) into a folder that the SiteKiosk user (used in “Auto Start” mode) has access to.
Generally we advice using subfolders at “…\SiteKiosk\Html\”.

HI

the start screen I use is the one that looks like the windows 8 blocks

and the screen saver is just a picture using windows picture screen saver it stays on till I touch the screen

when the kiosk is running the picture that's attached comes on then with in a second and no one touching the screen it will flash white a few times then return to the main page

I know it must be me with some setting but I cant see what ive missed

HI ive sorted the transfer just need to look more but im learning now its just the screen saver all I want to do is display one picture that says touch me im here to help

if you know a better way please tell me

Hello,

The configuration and data of the Start Screen skin will be saved outside of the SiteKiosk configuration at “C:\Users\Public\SiteKiosk\content\...”.

For displaying a picture when the screen saver activates just put the file into the folder “…\SiteKiosk\Html”
Then choose the SiteKiosk Player at “-->Screensaver” in the SiteKiosk configuration.
Use the “Settings” Button to configure the content.
You may first delete all existing entries and then use the “Add” button to add the picture “Media Type: Images).
Then choose the “Time interval between pages” which is the refresh when you add only one picture (e.g. set it to 600).

At “-->Screensaver--> Activation method” you can choose the method to deactivate the screen saver (forgot to mention that also the touch screen input deactivates the screen saver by default besides keyboard & mouse) and the “Idle time before activating the screen saver”.

hi I put the image where and how you said but it still shows for a second or 2 then straight back to the home screen
