Support Request: connecting site remote to kiosk

Description

Hello,
We recently renewed our site remote liscense as it expired when our Kiosk was not in use. Now it is in use, we have renewed, but I went to our Kiosk on Friday and was unable to get to a screen that allowed me to follow the directions to connect the site remote. I called support and someone was supposed to email me directions on next steps, but I have not received anything in my email as of today. Please call or email me on next steps

Monitoring and managing your terminals is a breeze with SiteRemote http://www.siteremote.net.

1. On your SiteKiosk machine, go to the SiteKiosk configuration (Start > All Programs > SiteKiosk > Configure SiteKiosk)
2. Then click on the "SiteRemote" icon in the top right corner of the configuration wizard.
3. Enter the information (Host Name, User name & password) for the team you created at www.siteremote.net

We were unable to get to the sitekiosk configuration which is the first step on the directions. That was the main problem. Any suggestions?

When you say you are unable to open the SiteKiosk configuration, what happens?

Are you getting an error message? What is the behavior on the machine?

you will need to Exit SiteKiosk then log into your Administrator account on the computer to make changes or access to the configuration file of SiteKiosk.
If your machine is connected to a SiteRemote Account:

To take SiteKiosk out of autostart mode using SiteRemote do the following:
1. Log in to SiteRemote select your machine and then click the Jobs tab.
2. Click the New Job button.
3. Under Add Task select "Run Executable" then click Add.
4. In the command line box add the following command (This command is only for 32-bit systems. Use /reg:64 for 64-bit systems):

reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon" /v AutoAdminLogon /d 0 /f

5. Click the assign button
6. After this job has finished, run a Windows restart job on the machine and the machine will now go to the Windows logon screen.

If you do not have a SiteRemote Account or the machine is not registered to one:

please see the following steps you could try for gaining access to your operating system:

You can also try and press the "Windows logo key+L" to lock the machine. If this works it will bring up a dialog that lets you switch users (you can then login to the Administrator User Account). Unfortunately, if any of the other steps do not work…the only option is to run a recovery or repair on the machine.
