Support Request: Accessing a website that needs rights

Description

I have a button on the Start Page which is supposed to open an internal website. The web server required authentication.
The browser opens, but the server is passed the local "SiteKiosk" credentials and refuses them.
I have tried this by link and by calling an external application (internet explorer) with 'run as another user' (a domain account) but the server still reports that the "sitekiosk" account is trying to connect.
Is there something I am missing here, or another way to open a webpage using alternative credentials?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,

The SiteKiosk Browser does not have a specific option to send an authentication to a web page but if you are using an IE based skin (e.g. Metro IE) the SiteKiosk browser will automatically try to authenticate with the Windows user it runs under (using the corresponding IE feature).

To check this you may first start SiteKiosk in “Run Once” mode in the user account where it works in IE.

Finally you need to provide access for the SiteKiosk user to that web page (that it also works with the IE in the SiteKiosk user account) or start SiteKiosk with a domain account that has access (Customized start settings).

Other than that, you can use the way described here (e.g. also when using Chrome Browser skin): http://devblog.provisio.com/post/2017/10/19/Using-the-External-Script-Option-of-SiteKiosk-to-Automate-Processes.aspx

Please note:
Starting other browser applications with SiteKiosk is not supported for security reasons. Of course you can disable the security features of SiteKiosk that are blocking the startup of other browsers but there is no further support on this when running into any problems.
