Support Request: Time out problems

Description

Hello,

We encounter 2 problems with Sitekiosk.

1) After we deactivate de screensaver, by touching the mouse for example, only a part of the screen can be used. You can see an example in de file "sitekiosk after screensaver.png".
We already updated the display driver, and also tried the Microsoft Basic Display Driver, but without success.

2) Sometimes, when someone is working on the computer, the start screens appears. This happens at random times. Sometimes this is only a couple of seconds, sometimes it is after a few minutes.

Many thanks in advance for your help.
Patrik Peirlinck.

Hello,

Generally there is no known problem and SiteKiosk uses the whole monitor by default with the resolution configured under Windows.

Did you manually configure any special settings like “4. Screen Resolution” or “5. Restrict SiteKiosk to a Portion of the Screen”?
See: https://www.provisio.com/helpconsole/SiteKiosk%20Help/en-US/default.htm?manuell_editierbare_optionen.htm

Does it also happen when creating a new, clean configuration where you fist just setup the password to exit SiteKiosk and the start page URL?

In regards to the second issue you should check what information is given in the log at that particular time.

Hello,

In case the above doesn’t help and you use the "Start Screen" you may also update to the most current SiteKiosk version 9.7.5026 as there was a fix in the configuration editor and Start Screen related to high DPI/scaling settings under Windows.
https://www.provisio.com/en-US/Downloads/VersionHistory.aspx?Product=SiteKiosk

But note that you may need to purchase an update license for using the actual version 9.7.5026 (e.g. in case you license was purchased before April 2018).
