Support Request: siteremote shows kiosk is logged off

Description

After briefly working, client is not connecting to siteremote. I have confirmed that port 8086 is open and that siteremote service is running. When attempting to unregister (in order to reregister) I get the message "There was no endpoint listening at net.pipe://localhost/SrcService/General/IClientRegistration that could accept the message." Sitekiosk for windows 9.7.5026.0.

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. The message - "There was no endpoint listening at net.pipe://localhost/SrcService/General/IClientRegistration that could accept the message." indicates that the local SiteRemote client service on the machine is not running or not running correctly. In your case, to manually unregister a SiteKiosk machine with SiteRemote, you will need to delete the SiteRemote config file. In order to accomplish this, do the following:

1. Close the SiteKiosk configuration editor.
2. Login as administration and go to "C:\ProgramData\PROVISIO\SiteRemote Client" (this folder is hidden by default in Windows) and then delete all files that start with "SiteRemoteClient".
3. Go to the list of Windows services and restart the service name "SiteRemoteClientService.exe".

You can then open the SiteKiosk configuration editor and register SiteKiosk with the new SiteRemote Server.

Best regards,
Andre.

Deleting the config files allowed me to unregister and re-register. It checked in one time, the failed. The siteremote client service has stopped. I can manually restart it but it stops again after about 10 seconds. There is no error.

Hello,

Thank you for the information. Can you confirm if there are any related errors in the Windows Event Viewer? Can you confirm what Windows OS version you are using? Do you know if there are any security software updated or installed recently?

Best regards,
Andre.

There is no security software running. Sitekiosk, a touch-screen driver, and Chrome are the only apps on the machine other than what is factory-installed.
I did find two relevant entries is the event viewer.

Hello,

Thank you for sharing the log notes. There is not a known issue of this nature. I would recommend that you do a full SiteKiosk uninstall. To do this, go to Add/Remove Programs and select Modify then Remove. Also select to remove all created data. Then reinstall SiteKiosk and see if the problem persist. Before you remove all created data you must save your content from these folders:

Configuration - C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\Config (*.skcfg files)
Start Screen - C:\Users\Public\SiteKiosk\content (the entire folder).
Media Content - C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\Html (images, videos, html folders, PDFs etc.)

Additionally, for further review, we would like to obtain a screen shot of all your installed programs. Please email them to support-america(at)provisio.com.

Best regards,
Andre.
