Play Global Ltd, is a Spin Out company, with its origins in a business department of a larger amusement company, specializing on the development and route operation of amusement machines for the last 35 years in Portugal. Since the year 2003, with its wide experience in route operation, the mother company initiated a project in order to create a new kiosk machine capable to deploy computer usage and internet access to everyone throughout the country, independently of their academic background or computer skills, to help coping with the new demand to create a real IT society in Portugal, as promoted by the local government. With the project prototype finished and tested by the end of 2006, this company division becomes one independent business with the creation of Play Global Ltd. Presently Play Global Ltd, owns and manages this project, and has expanded it by making partnerships with, media developers, games builders and distributers, and VoIP providers. More than a kiosk machine, this new bread of kiosks incorporates a new concept with the name of "e.spot". Its main strength is the highly intuitive interface and external graphical look, capable of making even the more skeptic person use it. At this time, Play Global Ltd, runs all its operations based on a secure network with all its machines connected by a Virtual Private Network. Play Global Ltd already has two new variations of this concept, which will deploy to the market very soon. The first is E.SPOT EVO, that based on a single flash interface, introduces to the public Email and Internet Access, Communications Services like Windows Live Messenger and VoIP phone Calls, Sports, Online Music, WEB 2.0 content such as Second Life, There, Blog and Podcasting Services, Science and Culture content, Utility services, and offline Applications such as Open Office 2.2 . The second is E.SPOT GAMER, that based on a single flash interface, a strong and steady communications network, and a powerful computer, introduces to the public 3 major themes: Play, Communicate, and Surf. Besides all the services already introduced with the EVO version, the E.Spot Gamer core is build of high quality Multiplayer Games and MMORP (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing games) that from now on could be available to every player in every coffee house, shopping mall or street location. No need to find a specialized LAN house. The adventure could be in “selected” public places near you.
