When choosing the option “Application Service Provider” (ASP), you will use the infrastructure already existing under www.siteremote.net on a monthly lease basis. If you pick the SiteRemote Server option, you will operate your own server independently from PROVISIO.

Operating SiteRemote Server version requires the installation of the software on a server meeting the minimum hardware and software requirements (see System Requirements). SiteRemote ASP version is Internet-based and does not require any server hardware or software installation.

The SiteRemote Server version requires you to have your own Microsoft SQL database license. For smaller teams, you might want to use the free Microsoft SQL Express version.

The SiteRemote Server version requires you to have your own Microsoft Windows 2003 Server license.

The ASP version does not require any installation or administration.

The SiteRemote Server version must be assigned its own IP address at which the server can be reached at all time. The client machines do NOT require their own IP address.

Depending on usage, the communication between the client machines and the SiteRemote server incurs data transfer costs for which your provider will charge you.

Automatically connect the client machines to SiteRemote without requiring any user interaction.

Secure communication between SiteRemote and the client terminals by using key and symmetrical encryption.

Manage the files on your client machines using a file structure similar to Windows Explorer. Use drag-and-drop to move machines between folders.

Store important address information (e.g. location of terminal, owner’s address, maintenance service contact) for each machine.

Manage different users with individual access rights for each team.

Assign a default language for the user interface to each user. SiteRemote currently offers the following language interfaces: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, and Dutch.

Time zones can be assigned to each client machine and user, allowing for the generation of accurate reports, statistics, and aid in processing time-sensitive information.

SiteRemote includes a maintenance log in which administrators can add entries noting the dates and times of any maintenance activities

The Export feature collects and exports protocol data and address files.

Use the search function to locate teams, addresses, users, machines, and folders.

This feature provides you with the current license and account information for your team (e.g. transfer volumes, storage usage, registered machines, etc.)

The SiteRemote Server version allows the management and monitoring of one or more teams.

The SiteRemote Server version can create and manage individual ASP user licenses (and consequently, the leasing to third parties).

Strings manage the languages and texts shown in the user interface. Languages in the SiteRemote Server version can be modified by adding strings.

SiteRemote Server can be set to automatically back up the database at certain scheduled intervals.

Set up a SiteRemote welcome/login page with graphics, logos and individual text.

The client machine will report back to the SiteRemote server with information pertaining to the current status of the terminal, in scheduled time intervals.

SiteRemote, used with GoogleMaps or Microsoft Virtual Earth, can display a visual map of all client terminals.

Live screenshots of kiosk’s display monitor can be requested from every client machine.

Use the screenshot feature for scheduled jobs and reports. In addition, you can adjust the resolution and quality of the image.

Queries can be run for product and status information on installed software components.

The SiteRemote Server version allows adding individual entries to the software list, using the Software Component Configuration File.

Queries can be run for product and status information on installed hardware components.

SiteRemote generates and displays error messages and alerts for certain software and hardware events.

The Alert Configuration File, available with the SiteRemote Server version, allows additional individual entries to the list of events to report.

Staff members and administrators can receive automatic alerts for certain events occurring on the client terminals via automatic e-mail or SMS (Short Message Service)

The SiteKiosk activity log files are transmitted close to real time for almost instantaneous viewing and available for review for 360 days.

SiteRemote can generate real-time statistics on usage time and sales for the current day or week, as well as the previous week.

The software shows daily, weekly, monthly, and annual performance diagrams for certain hardware components.

The Reports feature is used to create detailed reports on the machines for period, and contain information on sales, usage or errors.

Allows scheduling of automatic generation for daily, weekly or monthly reports.

Reports can be created automatically and sent via e-mail.

Send system commands such as Shutdown, Reboot, and Update screenshot from a remote location.

View and edit SiteKiosk configuration files remotely.

The Jobs feature creates functions which can be composed of different actions (such as “Upload file” + “Execute script” – “Reboot computer”) and can be assigned to several client machines at once.

Jobs that are created can be saved to templates to reuse at a later time or for scheduled automatic tasks.

This additional tool is used to establish a direct data connection to an individual machine for exchanging files and executing general file operations.

Remote Desktop Connection provides complete access to the kiosk terminal.
