Hello,

Generally SiteKiosk uses a Windows Environment variable to locate the Public folder location.
If you changed the default Public folder location after SiteKiosk installation you can do a repair installation so that SiteKiosk uses the new one.

Hello,

The environment variable should be %Public%
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environment_variable#Default_values
By default you get the folder “C:\Users\Public” when using cd %Public% at the command line.

But I also did a test on Windows 7 and 10 where I changed the “%SystemDrive%\Users\Public” path to “D:\Users\Public” in the Windows Registry as described here:
https://www.petri.com/configure-default-location-of-user-profile-windows-8-1

I cannot say if that is the correct way to change the default folder location for the public user (or if it generally supported by Microsoft to change it) but even the content folder was stored in the new folder at “D:\Users\Public\SiteKiosk\” after a SiteKiosk repair installation the SiteKiosk configuration tool doesn’t seem to consider the new location.
The Start Screen Editor doesn’t start before copying he content folder back to “C:\Users\Public\SiteKiosk”

I forwarded this information to our developers to check it for a future version.

Meanwhile you need to copy the content folder to the default location at “C:\Users\Public\...”

Ok Michael,
thank you for the explanation.
For your information we have tryed this:

- crated a link from D:\users to C:\Users (mklink DOS command)

in this way we have created a link under disk C for the D:\users folder and when something try to write on C:\Users it writes instead into D:\users.
This seems to be working for us.

Kind Regards
Nicola

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback. Can you please also provide the following information?
1. Which folder is opened when you use “cd %Public%” at the command line?
2. How did you configure Windows to use “D:\Users\Public”?
(Please provide a short step by step guide or a link to a documentation).
