Support Request: Setting the password for the restricted user before installation

Description

A users network restrictions are stopping a complete setup using the provisio account and we need to change the password to adhere to their requirements. can this be set prior to installation?

Thank you for your inquiry. There is no option to set the password prior to installation, but it can be changed using command line options when installing. What if the silent install cannot be completed?

Hello,

The silent install can be completed by the command line tool on the computer or SCCM for domain administrators. There is no other way for network users to manually configure the restricted account password. Unless, you create a separate Organization Unit in Active Directory for the SiteKiosk computer and login to the admin account with the new and separate domain credentials.

You can still use the default Windows settings and SiteKiosk will still be secure.

Great, thank you Andre the team was able to complete. If I wanted to revise that password AFTER installation what are the best practices?

Hello,

Glad to hear that everything worked well. If you need to change the password to the Restricted User Account, you will need to close SiteKiosk, log off your other accounts and log into the admin user account. There you will start System Security Manager and select Customize. Review the options under User Account to change the password.
