Support Request: SiteKiosk Windows Desktop layout

Description

Hi Team,

We are currently working on a proof of concept for a Contact Centre dashboard and would like to use SiteKiosk to lock it down.
The dashboard will consist of multiple windows being open such as Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. When configuring the desktop layout for multiple windows we are unable to idenitfy how to allow for Windows to be maximised after they have been minimised. The only way we can see to do this is by using the ALT + TAB keyboard shortcut combination.

We request your assistance with this and greatly appreciate your support. We are looking to purchase licences however really would like to ensure the solution meets our requirements before proceeding with the purchase.

Essentially what we are looking for is the ability to maximise windows they have been minimised from the taskbar. Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. Based on your description, you can maximize your windows by:

With Chrome Browser, you will need to add a script to maximize the new browser windows. You will find the steps here: https://devblog.provisio.com/post/2016/08/24/How-to-Maximize-New-Chrome-Browser-Windows.aspx. (Articles posted in our Developers Blog are considered as-is and further support is not provided.)

Whereas with IE based skins (e.g. Metro IE), you can enable the option "Maximize new browser windows by default" at "-->Start Page & Browser-->Advanced".

If you intend to ensure that your windows stay up at all times, you can consider this script which uses the SiteKiosk: Object model https://devblog.provisio.com/post/2017/12/18/How-to-Build-an-Extended-Script-Watchdog-for-External-Applications.aspx. It can be used for SiteKiosk internal browser as well. To see the window title and class name of your applications, you can use the AutoIt tool (open source tool downloaded separately).

If the above did not resolve what you were looking for, please let me know.

Best regards,
Andre.

Hi Andre and Provisio Team,

The windows open on screen however when minimised down to the taskbar there is no way to bring the window back up on the screen. The only way we could find was to use ALT + TAB. I am referring to using the "Desktop Start page" where the black taskbar does not display minimised windows providing the user the option to re-display the minimised window.
