SiteKiosk: Bug Fix for critical error
On kiosk machines with SiteKiosk versions earlier than 8.7 under Windows 7, the system will in most cases become unusable after Internet Explorer 10 is installed. The affected SiteKiosk versions are 7.1 - 8.6. Any Windows 7 computers that have automatic updates enabled will be affected because Internet Explorer 10 is installed automatically as part of Windows updates.

All software resellers are strongly encouraged to forward this information to the operators of the kiosks. PROVISIO has no information about the end user and therefore cannot directly inform them!

Description
Hello,
I would like to retrieve in sitekiosk's object scripting the name of the machine filled in the "remote monitoring" section, displaying in siteremote's tree.

I have tried to use the property
SiteKiosk.Plugins("SiteRemote").Name ( which is not the right property of course), but even, I get "undefined" despite my kiosks are well connected to the server.
Even the "plugin" collection returns "undefined" instead of "siteremote" object.

How can I do that ?

thanks

Hello,

The Name property just contains the name of the PlugIn:
http://www.provisio.com/en-US/Help/ObjectModel/sitekiosk_object/siteremote_name_prop.html

Generally please note that the path of the file using these objects must be allowed in the SiteKiosk configuration (Security -> Access -> URL's With Script Permission).

This is not possible
But by default the Windows machine name will be used and you might check to retrieve the Windows machine name by using JavaScript.
