Support Request: Trouble with mapped drives to a Windows Domain

Description

Support,

I have the Site Kiosk PC runnning using the locked down account. I setup a domain account to match the local SiteKiosk/proviso credentials. When i login to the account without the auto-login, the drives are mapped and ready to go. I have even saved the domain credentials in control Userpassword2. When the SiteKiosk is set to auto boot, the mapped drives are listed but have an x over them as if disconnected. I can go into the drives via windows explorer and they instantly open up without looking for credentals. So i can confrim the credentails are saved correctly. I have tried to rectify the situtation via logon scripts, but appartly the script runs before your software kicks in, and i think there is a slight network timeout that prevents the drives from authenticating. I also have a batch file that deletes and re-adds the drives and I set it up in the software as a work around. I fighred the users could click the script have it run and all would work. The script will not run even though in security settings I have allow scripting enabled. The script will run as a soon as I enter the config mode of the software and the Admin credentals are entered. So I fear I am missing something in the sec manager that is not allowing these scripts to run. I dont care if i need to run the batch file after the fact, but I do need the mapped drive access for the network based softeware to run. Thank you for your help.

I have further tried to fix the issue last night. I have disabled most of the file and program security. The locked down account has full access to the C:\drive (which includes C:\Windows, and C:\Windows\System32), and cmd is not a restrict app. I also unhecked the Network/Dialup portion of the security settings. It seems that logon scrtipt runs, i saw a minimized cmd windows in the backround, but it will not allow net use to a unc path to work. Yet under the same SiteKiosk local account without the software, i can run the script no problem. I can't find any other settings in the software that might be restricting this script from working. I have the script in a local netlogon share on the PC as per KB articles, and can confrim its able to run, so permissions are not an issue. And even added the script (batch file) into the applications portion of SiteKiosk in either the same netlogonor even in the SiteKiosk My Documents folder. Again both paths the locked down account has Full Control to.

Are you able to see the mapped drives when starting SiteKiosk in "Start Once" mode? Is there any difference in behavior as opposed to the AutoStart mode?

If you have a domain user in which you are starting SiteKiosk and not the SiteKiosk Restricted User Account:

If you require a domain user or other user than the default local SiteKiosk user, you can specify SiteKiosk to use that account instead of the default local SiteKiosk user. To do this choose "Customized" from the SiteKiosk Quick Start menu then click OK. In the Startup Options select the "Run SiteKiosk automatically at Windows startup(auto start)" and leave shell replacement selected in the drop down. Uncheck the box labeled "Settings only apply to the restricted SiteKiosk user account". Then check the box labeled "Log on automatically at system startup" to select a different user for SiteKiosk to run in Autostart. Click the Settings button to enter the credentials for your domain user.

The File Manager is the only interface in SiteKiosk for accessing drives and folders on the machine.

If you are able to access the mapped drives in StartOnce Mode, then you will need to allow the drives in the System Security Manager of SiteKiosk.

- Open the System Security Manager (All Programs > SiteKiosk > System Security Manager) and select Customized.
- Select “File System” in the tree view on the left.
- Under “Hide Drives in Explorer”, uncheck the drives that you wish to make visible to your users.
