Support Request: Error opening SiteKiosk - default config loaded, cannot write to registry

Description

When the computer starts, I get the following error message:
"SiteKiosk was not able to write to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SiteKey\Parameters. Please make sure you have the necessary access rights."
This happens both in the restricted SiteKiosk account as well as in the Administrator account on the computer.
When running in the restricted account, once we click on OK, we get a message that the config file could not be loaded, and the emergency config is loaded. When I enter the account password, the only options that work are Configure, Shutdown, Restart, and Log Off. The options for closing SiteKiosk do not work.
The config file is under the SiteKiosk program folder, so either account has access to it.

Are you connected to a domain? Are you able to edit the registry manually? For example, can you change the path to the last used SiteKiosk configuration file through regedit at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ProVisio\SiteKiosk\LastCfg (on a 64-bit system the path will be HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\PROVISIO\SiteKiosk\LastCfg)?

The location of the last used configuration file is stored in the registry. If SiteKiosk cannot access the registry, it will not be able to determine which configuration file to load. If you are able to edit the registry manually, it is also possible that SiteKiosk is being blocked from accessing the registry by a security tool like an antivirus package etc. You should be able to temporarily disable those tools in order to determine if that is the issue.

Thank you for the response.
Yes, it does appear that the antivirus on the machine was blocking some activity. We disabled the Identity Protection module of AVG, repaired the installation of SiteKiosk, and the system came back up properly.

Thank you.
