Support Request: problem execution of the driver TOUCH FOILDRIVER WMA.

Description

Hi at all,

Can you help me?

I have a problem about the execution of the driver TOUCH FOILDRIVER WMA.

This is the site where we downloaded the driver: http://www.visualplanet.biz/

I made this operation to resolve the problem, but I can’t:

I generated this java script:

evtid = SiteKiosk.Scheduler.AddDelayedEvent(5000, start); function start()

{

SiteKiosk.ExternalApps.Run("C:/touchfoildriver-MA9/bin/rundriver.exe", false);

}

So I had put this script in the Sitekiosk HTML folder; Then I configured It in

Configuration-->Browser-->

Browser Design-->Advanced-->Execute Script File

First doubt: I don’t know if the script that I generated is correct!!!!

- After this operation, I entered in Windows and I erased ConsoleWindowClass.

- After this, From System-Security-Manager (-->Customized-->Programs ) I

authorized cmd.exe;

- After, I authorized the access to this folder:

C:/touchfoildriver-MA9/bin/rundriver.exe

Second doubt: in my pc rundriver.exe become rundriver.dll. It’s an error?

Change something or doesn’t matter?

Please, help me, I’m in big trouble! Sorry for my English.

Hello,

the script generally seems to be correct but since SiteKiosk 8.x you even can start external applications after the start of the SiteKiosk browser by adding them to the SiteKiosk configuration (-->Applications) and enabling the checkbox at “Run program automatically“:
http://www.provisio.com/helpconsole/SiteKiosk%20Help/en-US/default.htm?applications.htm

SiteKiosk has no further influence to the external application. You may check if there is a difference in “Run once” mode or rather check the access rights of the SiteKiosk user to the folder “C:/touchfoildriver-MA9/bin/” by using the System-Security-Manager (-->Customized-->Folder access).
Further information here:

Here a general FAQ article about automatically starting an external application at Windows logon:

You should also have a look at the SiteKiosk log files (…\SiteKiosk\Logfiles).

Hello,

you need to contact the driver manufacturer to find out what folder access rights and other prerequisites are required to run the driver. This is especially true when starting SiteKiosk in Autostart mode under the restricted SiteKiosk Windows user.

By the way, if that is a 'normal' Windows driver you should not be required to start an executable by hand or by scripting each time you start the device. Maybe that is because of the multi-platform support of that specific foil-device, nonetheless, please make sure that this is actually the way that driver is supposed to be started.

Please note that our free support does not include generating scripts to run third-party applications. If you need custom support getting the third-party application to run please contact support-europe[at]provisio.com to receive a quote for a project-specific script.
