Description

The site kiosk software continually fails to keep the selected site up and running. It resets and has to reload every time the screen goes to sleep.

What happens when the screen goes to 'sleep'? Does the same thing happen in Start Once and Autostart? You can check the Windows power settings to ensure that the screen will not be turned off. If you are referring to the screensaver, the cache and cookies will be cleared by default and the start page loaded. This is so that every user will have the same starting point instead of starting from where the last user left off. What did you select to run as your screensaver?

Yes it is when the screensaver activates. When you wake the screen to access the site, it is at the sitekiosk loading screen and not the actual site itself. I've adjusted the power settings and autostart is enabled.

So you mean that your start page is never displayed after the screensaver activates? Does the same thing happen in Start Once and Autostart? What did you select to run as your screensaver? For example, did you select "Open SiteKiosk Start Page" as the screensaver? Is your start page local or server based? From your description, it sounds like at some point you do get the page to load. How do you do this? How is your kiosk being used? Is this an interactive kiosk or a digital signage display?

The start page is displayed, it just takes a really long time to load back up after the screensaver runs. Anytime the software runs it takes an incredibly long time to get to the site page. I'm not sure about the "Start Once or Autostart, if you think that could be the problem then I can look at that. The start page is server based on the public web. I am able to get the page to load by normal means of starting it up, it is just really slow. We are using the kiosk as a laptop checkout tool. It is an interactive kiosk.

If you open the start page in IE outside of SiteKiosk does the same thing happen? If you change the start page to www.google.com and test in Autostart does the same thing happen? If you navigate around to other pages aside from that, do they load faster? It is always helpful to test it in both Start Once and Autostart to see if there is a difference which can provide useful information and resolve your issue more quickly.
