Support Request: error while starting the configuration

Reproduction

open up configuration editor... it will always prompt you with loading configuration error.

I saw this issue on a build I had and I am building a fresh install today and didn't even set up a configuration file yet and I ran into this error. Exact words ' Error: There was an error while starting the configuration. Would you like to try again?'

I have tried Yes and No... i have tried many things.. but I always get the same issue. I am using windows 10 Home 10.0.10586

I seem to be able to just ignore the issue by hitting cancel when asked do you want to save your configuration. This allows me to get into the editor and make changes and save it. I can then run off the config and everything works fine... but something is off... maybe you guys don't play well with home version of windows 10? never had any issues in the past with windows 8 but Microsoft likes to make things tough for everyone.

This error message means that SiteKiosk can't connect to the local SiteRemote Client service.
Check if the SiteRemote Client service is running (-->Start-->Run...-->services.msc).


If the service is not running you should try to start it. Generally just make sure that the startup type for that service is set to “Automatic” (default).
If there are still problems you may check the Windows Event log for any issues.
(e.g. if any other security tool is preventing the startup of the SiteRemote Client service).

you were correct. The service was not running. I manually started it and it worked fine. I then rebooted the computer and the service was not running again. It was set to automatically start. So I changed it to Automatic (delayed) and it seems to start now on reboot.
