Support Request: Artstor library website crashes SiteKiosk

Reproduction

Browse to the website http://library.artstor.org with the IE browser setting. I haven't tested it yet in Chrome but my organization needs to use IE for other compatibilities.

Description

Visiting the website http://library.artstor.org/ causes SiteKiosk to hang and ultimately the watchdog restarts it. Accessing this site is important for my institution.

Below are two successive crashes while attempting to load from the logs. After the first crash I checked the setting to show Script Errors and indeed the log records an error on next attempt.

However I can load the site with the IE11 browser on the same machine just fine so it seems to be related to the SiteKiosk browser specifically. Lastly I have tried opening the site with a clean default skcfg file and have the same issue.

I have also tried the site from the restricted sitekiosk user and an unrestricted administrator.

Does this issue still occur if you switch to Metro IE skin (without start screen) in the SiteKiosk configuration tool under >Basic >Start Page & Browser?

Yes it still occurs. I am now thinking the Artstor website is incompatible with the Microsoft Web Browser Control. I was troubleshooting a similar website compatibility issue with icloud.com (the site loads a direct "Your browser is not supported" message, fyi). I found this article (http://www.provisio.com/de-DE/CustomerSupportCenter/ArticleDetails.aspx?ArticleID=20381) where you describe the Web Browser Control and provide a download of the application for testing (http://www.provisio.com/Download/beta/WebbrowserTestApplication.zip). The application returns the same issues loading Artstor and iCloud. The article is a few years old. What do you think?

Do you replicate the issue just by navigating to http://library.artstor.org and then it immediately freezes when that page loads or are there additional steps? I ran SiteKiosk with the IE based browser and navigated to that page. The button and links etc on the page are responsive. Does the issue happen after you login? I tested this with SiteKiosk 9.3 on Windows 7/IE11.

I replicate by just visiting the page and it hangs on load. The page redirects to http://library.artstor.org/library/#1 so you may want to test that address. If I allow script errors to show a window consistently appears: "An error has occurred in the script on this page. Line: 15 Char: 71367 Error: Unable to get property "dir" of undefined or null reference Code: 0 URL: http://library.artstor.org/library/dojo18/dojo/dojo.js Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?" Clicking Yes or No gets the same result. The site loads a page saying "Please Upgrade Your Browser" as its not detecting it as a supported browser. I'm using SiteKiosk 9.3 on Windows 8.1/IE11. FYI, I just cleared all group policy settings to test and encountered the same issue. I also just tried running the Web Browser Control in Windows 7 compatibility mode and it didn't help. Note that the actual IE11 browser does load the page in all my tests but the SiteKiosk based version does not.
