Support Request: SiteKiosk appearing above full screen app

Reproduction

I dont know what IE version is running.

Start the full screen WPF application and wait 24hours.

Description

Hi there

We run several kiosks using both SiteRemote and SiteKiosk to manage them. Our setup is one where we have sitekiosk display a full screen web page with a big button "start". When the user presses start (or when the kiosk is restarted) a full screen WPF application with several windows runs. In this new version of site kiosk (its the only one that we have upgraded to the version 9.3.3836), we have noticed that the web page in sitekiosk goes "in front" of the full screen application. We only notice this overnight, so it seems that several hours need to go by, then mysteriously the next time we pull a screenshot, we see the big "start" button instead of the wpf application. We can see from the application logs that it is actually running the whole time.

Please can you investigate if there is any change to the "bring to front" behaviour of sitekiosk? We need our app to be focussed and "in front" the whole time. The "start" button we have made is only in case the app crashes, and gives the user a way to manually start it.

Another odd thing I have seen is that in SiteRemote in the "errors" tab, it is showing that the SiteKiosk app crashed (terminated abnormally). I think perhaps it is then restarting and going in front of our WPF full screen app.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Thanks
Iain

For the “foreground issue” try activating the option “Keep the SiteKiosk main window in the background (not TopMost)” in the SiteKiosk configuration tool under “-->Start Page & Browser-->Advanced”.

Alternatively you could may check this:

The SiteRemote Service timeout error is a Windows error message and may apply to the performance of the machine?
Further details should be displayed in Windows event log.
You can try increasing the timeout value (e.g. from 30 to 60 or 120 seconds?), it also works on Windows client os:
