Support Request: Websites block even when added to granted list

Description

I'm using sitekiosk to access local government websites using buttons. Added another government website and it blocked access to all the allowed government websites, any ideas?

Hello,

When using the “Surfing Area” option “Access to other web addresses = Denied” you need to add all URLs (or parts of the URL string with *) to the list at “URLs/Paths”.

You can use the SiteKiosk log to analyze the access. If a URL will be blocked by your Surfing Area settings you will have entries like this in the log:
[SiteKiosk] Notification: According to the surf area rules the navigation to XYZ was canceled.

In this case I e.g. found this URL nearly at the end of the attached log that is not listed as allowed in your config:

[SiteKiosk] Notification: According to the surf area rules the navigation to https://www.gov.uk/apply-universal-credit was canceled.

Otherwise you may enable the option “Show output window (for testing)” at “-->Logfiles” to check the log output while trying to access the corresponding URL.

Tried both and it has not worked tried with wildcard * did not not make difference.

Used logging but no help as all it reported was that a certain link block as not grant even though it is.

Anymore areas to check?

Hello,

As stated there was no entry in your surfing area settings in the attached config that allows https://www.gov.uk/apply-universal-credit

You can e.g. try
Protocol *://
URL *.gov.uk/*

P.S. it is guraranteed that the log entry appears if a URL was blocked by SiteKiosk (Surfing Area settings)
