SiteKiosk: Bug Fix for critical error
On kiosk machines with SiteKiosk versions earlier than 8.7 under Windows 7, the system will in most cases become unusable after Internet Explorer 10 is installed. The affected SiteKiosk versions are 7.1 - 8.6. Any Windows 7 computers that have automatic updates enabled will be affected because Internet Explorer 10 is installed automatically as part of Windows updates.

All software resellers are strongly encouraged to forward this information to the operators of the kiosks. PROVISIO has no information about the end user and therefore cannot directly inform them!

Description
Dear Sir

Regarding a web kiosk project we are developing over the last year, we have negotiate a VoIP solution with a VoIP Portuguese provider to be integrated on our machine.
yesterday we have made a final brain storming where new doubts came up.

The VoIP solution will work with two separate software packages.
The first is the webphone software that will work as a normal external program, and this is ok.
The second should be a currency generator that will creat code/pin numbers allowing the usage of the webphone very much alike a pre paid phone card.

The idea is to present on the user view side a HTML page where for example will exist 3 buttons. The first one will say "Buy 1 Euro Voucher", the second will say "Buy a 2 Euros Voucher", the third one will say "Make phone call". Resuming, the first ones creat pin numbers corresponding to a credit of 1 or 2 Euros, and the last one open the webphone.

Regarding this, we have two main issues for waht we need your help.

1º - By pressing the buttons for acquiring the vouchers we intend that the correspondent ammount should be deducted from the credit amount that the client have on his normal kiosk usage account. For example, to use the kiosk for an hour the user inserted 2,50 Euros. During this hour and at certain point of time he only have 1,40 Euros and he decide to by a VoIP voucher of 1 Euro. This 1 Euro should be deducted from his currency balance, and after that, only 0,40 Euros remain. So, my question is; -how can we do this, by having 3 or 4 diferent buttons for diferent vouchers amount acquisition?

2º - The web kiosk machines will be put working on many diferent public places like coffe houses, shoping malls, and many others. To put this machines on this places we will negotiate with the place owner a comission to be calculated over the turnover of the web kiosk. For example, imagine that we negotiate with a coffe house owner a comission of 20%, that means if at the end of the week we have on the machine cash box 100 Euros, 20 Euros should belong to the coffe house owner.
The problem here is that from this 100 Euros, part is from the normal web kiosk usage and this is ok, but the other part will result from Vouchers acquisitions, a money that belongs to the VoIP company, from who we only receive for example 5%.
So, my questions here are:
- At the end of the week when the staff empty the web kiosk coin deposit box and reset account to zero, how can we have the info of how much money come from the normal usage of the webkiosk and how much money come from Vouchers acquisitions?
- This info is only available to be seen on the monitor or could it also be printed, creating a document that will be used as control?

Regards

Carlos

Dear Mr. Camos,
Please use the SiteKiosk Object Model. For example the function debit from SiteCash Object.

SiteKiosk.Plugins("SiteCash").Debit(amount);

For your second problem we have two solutions for you.

1. If you have a debit action you can write a notification in the current logfile, then you have to check the sales manually.

SiteKiosk.Logfile.Notification(msg);

2. We can provide a SDK to develope a own device for SiteCash. If you're interestes please write an e-mail to support-europe(at)sitekiosk.com.

If you have developed an own device, you have the posibillity to make a sales cut per device setting in the SiteCash administration. This sales cut can be send by e-mail.

Best regards,
Christian Pappert
