SiteKiosk: Bug Fix for critical error
On kiosk machines with SiteKiosk versions earlier than 8.7 under Windows 7, the system will in most cases become unusable after Internet Explorer 10 is installed. The affected SiteKiosk versions are 7.1 - 8.6. Any Windows 7 computers that have automatic updates enabled will be affected because Internet Explorer 10 is installed automatically as part of Windows updates.

All software resellers are strongly encouraged to forward this information to the operators of the kiosks. PROVISIO has no information about the end user and therefore cannot directly inform them!

Description
I recently purchased site kiosk, and the SiteCoach filter does not seem to be working properly. Key words that you would think would be obvious (fucking) are not filtered. Doing a google search, and then clicking on the links lets me into almost every site. I tried to edit the meta tags, and even confirmed that the meta tags matched, but the site is not filtered. I understand you can’t block every site, but why can’t I get my custom meta tag filter to work? And why don’t you block that key word?

some sites that use that word, usually political in nature, do seem to get blocked. what am I missing?

Here are some of the sites that are not getting filtered:

www.Thefreepornking.com

www.Fuckingfreemovies.com

www.fuckingmotherfucker.com

www.moviemonster.com

www.hotbods.com

realfuckingcouples.com

Hello,

it seems that you haven't configured you content filter correctly. I've tested your URLs and they were all blocked.

You have to activate the points:
"Activate internal URL evaluation list"
"Activate internal search patterns for meta tags, body tag and title"
in the advanced settings (this is standard)

You should update the criteria database manually the first time before you use the content filter.

The database has a size about 6,32MB.
You can check this in ..\SiteKiosk\SiteCoach\..
It's the file coachdata.bin
