Support Request: screen saver is a huge problem

Description

i recently updated to version 9 and the screen saver keeps locking up the kiosk.
i set it to show a website. locked up
i set it to show the home screen. locked up
i set it to "blank". locked up
by locked up i mean it shows a screen that looks like the front of a vault and won't let me do anything.
i'm this close (put your fingers an inch apart) from sending this thing back.

What is the Start Page you have selected under Basic > Start Page & Browser > Chooseyour browser design?

Is this happening on more than one computers?

Is there a difference when starting SiteKiosk in "Start Once" as opposed to "Auto Start" mode?

You may try running a repair on the software incase there is a corrupted installation (Control Panel > Programs and features > SiteKiosk > Repair). Also ensure that all Windows Updates are downloaded and installed.

i am using the windows 8 start page

i have only tried it on this one kiosk computer

it does it on start once and auto start, i tried both

i will try the repair function

(also... i found a forum answer about turning off the screen saver on an answer from 5/18/2011. it shows to open the config file and change screen saver enabled from true to false. i did this today and it has worked fine since then.)

i tried the repair function.
the software ran for about 8 hours and then it froze on the kiosk start page again.
when that happens, none of the buttons(links) work and i can't turn it off by hitting escape and putting in my password.

do you think i should uninstall and reinstall the software?
how would i do that?

i received this info from the kiosk builder...

name: "Yaskawa sk8.....
code: pck7k.....
master password: pck7k.....

do i need any of this as a key?

If the computer freezes after such a long period of time, it will be best to investigate what is happening on the actual OS/ Computer at that time. You may check for any errors from the SiteKiosk logfiles (Basic > Log Files).

If the repair did not make a difference, thn the next step would be to completely remove the software and install agan from our website:

Please see the steps to backing up your settings and reinstalling SiteKiosk:

1. You will just copy the configuration file on a flash drive or save to your Desktop etc. This is the .skcfg file located at C:/programfiles/sitekiosk/config
2. The SiteKiosk configuration file has a .skcfg extension... If you cannot see the extension on your machine then you may follow the instructions in the below article to accomplish this:
