Support Request: Windows10 can not autologon

Description

Hello Team,

I am trying to configure SiteKiosk on Win10 machine but it does not autologon with domain account. This works fine with same settings on Win7 machine.

Any hint what can be the reason?

Hello,

The auto start settings will be stored in the registry when applying the settings in the quick start menu (using usual registry settings provided by the Windows system).

You should check which other security applications are installed (e.g. antivirus) or if a group or domain policy is set that prevents that SiteKiosk can write to the Windows registry.

General note:
With “Run once” mode the SiteKiosk Browser always starts within the Windows (admin) user account that is logged in at that time.
With “Auto Start” SiteKiosk starts with the local restricted SiteKiosk user account.

For starting the SiteKiosk Browser automatically with a domain account you can use the “Customized” start settings.
First start SiteKiosk within a Windows user account with local admin rights and choose “Customized” in the quick start dialog that is displayed.

In the “Customized” start dialog:
1. Select the option "Run SiteKiosk automatically at Windows startup (auto start)" and "Auto start with shell replacement" from the dropdown.
2. Uncheck the box labeled "Settings only apply to the restricted SiteKiosk user account".
3. Check the box labeled “Disable any keyboard input during startup”
4. Check the box labeled "Log on automatically at system startup" then click the "Settings" button.
5. In the Auto Login dialog window enter the credentials for the domain user that you would like SiteKiosk to run under.
6. Click "OK" then you will be prompted to reboot for auto start.

Thanks Michael for the response.

I am following exactly same steps explained by you but somehow its not working for me on win10 however works fine for Win7.

Any suggestion if any particular settings to be looked upon?

Hello,

this also works and has been tested on WIndows 10 (even as Windows 10 uses the same settings for this).
