Hello,

either you are running SiteKiosk in Autostart and replaced the configuration with one that has no password set (e.g. through SiteRemote or other means than the SiteKiosk configuration tool itself). Make sure to always use a SiteKiosk configuration with password in Autostart mode.
Or a security application or policy is preventing SiteKiosk from restoring the original explorer. Check your system accordingly.

Thanks for your response.

In my test I just launch SK in "once mode".
I did not change the configuration and I always used a password.

So it should be a system accordingly problem.
Can you direct my research ?
Have you met this problem before ?

Thanks.

Hello,

SiteKiosk uses default Windows API calls when it is being closed to restore the Windows desktop. The only time SiteKiosk is not executing those calls is when you manage to use a SiteKiosk configuration in Autostart without a password.

In your case something seems to block the calls from SiteKiosk. Check for Antivirus or other security applications and make sure that you allow SiteKiosk there. Also check if Windows policies are applied, either locally (less likely) or through a domain. If the PC is part of a domain, either consider removing it from the domain or consider using an Organizational Unit, specifically configured for the kiosk systems.

You can also try using a SiteKiosk configuration with default settings to see if it makes any difference, though it is highly unlikely that a configuration setting (other than a missing password in Autostart) will have this effect.

Hello,

Thank you for your help.
It was the anti-virus that was blocking SK.
