Support Request: PDF Issues/SiteKiosk 8.7

Description

We have sitekiosk version 8.7, and site remote version 5.1.0.2189. On our website, members are not able to pull up PDF's of their statements. However, if I log into a normal account they can, so it is a setting in sitekiosk. I looked through the support topics, and I saw one where you modify the site config file; however; it does not apply for version 8.7. When I right click on the link and select open in new window, I get an error "Security settings does not allow". Any ideas on where I would look to get this working?

Hello,

It is recommeneded that you download and install the most current version (SiteKiosk 8.9) from our website to see if the issue still persists. You want to also make sure that you have Adobe Reader set as the default PDF software on your Operating System.

Do you see a different behavior if you deactivate the PDF tool in the SiteKiosk configuration tool under >Basic >Access/Security -->uncheck "Display PDF toolbar".

1. Try Disabling the PDF player in SiteKiosk. Open the SiteKiosk configuration file (…\SiteKiosk\Config\YourConfig.skcfg) with an editor and deactivate the SiteKiosk player for PDF:

- Search for the line
<filter enabled="true" player="pdf" content="application/pdf" action="2"/>

- Change it to false
<filter enabled="false" player="pdf" content="application/pdf" action="2"/>

2. SiteKiosk has an option to disable Download Manager for certain pages in favor of the regular Internet Explorer download dialog box. However, to take advantage of this feature you will have to open SiteKiosk's configuration file .skcfg with an editor and make some changes to the following section:
Do the following to use the Internet Explorer download dialog box instead of the SiteKiosk download manager.

a. Right-click your configuration file and open with Notepad.
b. Press Ctrl+F and search for the following line:

<msdownloaddlg-urls />

c. Replace the line you found in step 2 with the following:

<msdownloaddlg-urls>
<url> http://aWebPage.com/ </url>
</msdownloaddlg-urls>

The URL line stands for the URL you want to allow the IE download dialog for.
