Support Request: No acces to administration web page

Description

Hi,

I have the following problem with my new installation of the siteremote server website:
First I installed the application, I could access http://localhost/administration web page over http, I had to check that it was not a secure connection but it worked.
The site name is siteremote.vvvzuil.nl
After that I enabled our SSL certificate in IIS on the web server, the access to https://siteremote.vvvzuil.nl works fine , the connection is over https.
Than I started the browser (IE) on the webserver with: http://localhost/administration , I get an error page , see attachment .
(If I try https://localhost/administration I get an error page about TLS compatibility)

Do I do something wrong? Any ideas how to make it possible to access the administration page?

Best regards,

Hello,

that error usually indicates that the password for one of the three local Windows users we create during the installation process has been changed outside of the SiteRemote software. See the first page of the installation document: https://www.provisio.com/Download/brochures/siteremote-server-install-en.pdf. If that has been made uninstall the SiteRemote server, make sure to choose the option to keep the data and then reinstall and only make changes to the created users within the Administration of the SiteRemote Server.

Thanks. Indeed this is possible, there was some doubt about the password of the SITEREMOTEADMIN account. Is it possible to find the correct password in the Siteremote database?

Hello,

The passwords of the users SITEREMOTE, SITEREMOTEADMIN and SITEREMOTECMS will be created during the installation of SiteRemote and are assigned with a random password.
By default, the password(s) will be generated using 15 random letters (upper/lower case), special characters and numbers, which is in line with the strong password policy of Windows.
Also see the first page of the installation document: https://www.provisio.com/Download/brochures/siteremote-server-install-en.pdf.

These passwords are not stored in the Database.

If the password of the user SITEREMOTEADMIN has been changed outside of the SiteRemote software you can set a new one through the “SiteRemote Server Configuration Tool” (below "Change passowrds (usually not required)").
That tool is installed with SiteRemote and can be found in the start menu of Windows (otherwise at C:\Program Files (x86)\PROVISIO\SiteRemote\Service\SiteRemoteServerConfig.exe")

Alternatively uninstall the SiteRemote server, make sure NOT enabling the option to delete SiteRemote data & Database and then reinstall.

Generally you need to use https when opening the SiteRemote Administration with localhost at the server (https://localhost/administration).
Otherwise just open it from another machine (with https://siteremote.vvvzuil.nl/Administration in this case).
