Support Request: admin username issues

Description

Hi.
I am not sure of the software version because I cannot access the system. But I did do an update to the latest yesterday.

I have been testing a few variations of this and in my final prep, i do not remember if I changed the default password to access the admin.

I had set up one password for admin, that I believe to know and another for rebooting at the store level. The rebooting one works fine, but I cannot get into the admin. I do not know the username, and not sure if the field is case sensitive. I believe I names it WacomKiosk or WacomSiteKisok, but these do not seem to work, as I know the password.

I tried the remote access and the control, shift, F8 functions do not bring up the login screen, but do when I go on the system locally.

Online I was unable to see the usernames or any details for this machine, and there is no username or password recovery tool. There is no indication of the errors when logging in other than the standard "this username or password does not match our records" etc. Should that username perhaps be pre-populated? Where are the usernames stored? I should see this online, but only see the computer name as I have assigned it.

How do i get this? My reboot password works.. Is there anyway to get onto this system again as admin?

Thanks

When you speak of login screens and usernames, are you talking about the local profile username and login screen? Any information for any profiles created locally other than the restricted user account that is created when sitekiosk is installed, we would not know the passwords or usernames for.

When you press control shift f8 remotely it may be blocking some key strokes which explains why it works locally. I would suggest changing the key combination.

If you are speaking of the username and password when you select a profile to use Sitekiosk with under the customize settings when you get to the quick start menu that is different. by default the name is Sitekiosk and the password is 'provisio' if any of that information was to be changed it would have been done in the System Security Manager. When you exit Sitekiosk completely meaning you have closed it and are at the windows logon screen, what profiles do you see? which one of those profiles are your admin profiles? As stated before, we do not store any information when it comes to any local profiles other than the restricted user account.

Hi Sorry, I should; have detailed it more.

I set up sitekiosk with two passwords. One for admin and one simplified to reboot the computer. I changed the user in the sitekiosk configuration at one point but not sure if it stuck as I was always testing using the the start once feature with using the esc key to get back to the configuration tool or restart to launch the configurator.

So I launched in full mode to test. When I selected my ALT+Shift+F8, I am prompted for a username and password. I tried what i thought was the username I changed the default to, and it does not work. I called it WacomSitekiosk. I tried every variety of this and even the default you sent me. This does not work. I have the password and it does not work either. There is no username or password recovery tool here, no pull down for users to make sure you get the right user. How do I recover the username to make sure I am using the right one?

I can enter the password for the reboot and that works fine, but for some reason I cannot get back inot the admin. Is there a way using the web monitoring to see the username? is there anyway to restart for the admin tool? is there a master? Is there no recovery tools built in to your software? Since most of this is for corporate use, you must have a mechanism not to leave a company hanging for this type of thing.

maybe I did something wrong as I really do not understand why a different program in the "security manager", maybe because of my application only, but how do we recover the usernames and passwords etc? Is this security manager a factor for just using a basic sitekiosk application, is there something in there I should have set up to allow normal password or username recovery?

Thanks

The username that it is asking to authenticate with is the SiteRemote User Account not a local account. that username/password would be the same that you used to register the machine with siteremote. So if you do not use SiteRemote, using the username and password to close sitekiosk wont work. You would just need to use the passwords you set up in the configuration.

I am not asking about the windows account

1) I am in the full kiosk mode. my template 1 screen is the home page and only working page

2) I want to exit and make a few changes. When I select my keystrokes to exit, I am faced with a login screen for sitekiosk that asks for a username and password.

3) I enter the default username, does not work, I enter the customized name i used on my last test, that doesn't work. What is the default in the field until i change it? Is it case sensitive? Why woudln't this be pre-populated with the username? How to I retrieve it? why is there no recovery tool here? Why do the error messages mot say if the user is accurate or not? I know the password, i need to recover the username because everything i try does not work.

are you able to provide me with a solution?

Thanks

also, I tried to see what the default password was again and the trial software download it does not show.

If it is listed on the Siteremote, what is the exact username and where woudl it be listed? i only see the machine name in the siteremote interface.

I am desperate to solve this today.

If I buy another license and machine, can I use the same config file and create a new user and password for that machine or will it take the same properties and lock me out?
