Support Request: Repeating abnormal program termination

Description

We have had this issue before. We thought we resolved it by reloading our kiosks from scratch. The reload seems to have worked for about three weeks, but all 10 of our kiosks started having the problem again, and they all started on the same day. We get a abnormal program termination" error on every single kiosk about every 20 minutes. If you watch the kiosk, SiteKiosk just dies, then is restarted. All the kiosks have the same disk image and are running on identical Dell computers.

We are hosting out own SiteRemote server, which has also started causing us trouble now with the error below. I realize this is not enough information to solve the issue. Please let me know what you need from me as soon as possible. This was a 10 kiosk test rollout and we are about to rollout 150 more beginning next month, so we must have this issue resolved.

Hallo,

as the "abnormal program termination" isn't reproducible on our system can you please also provide a log file from one of these machines?

Are you running a web server in your local network or the machines are connected to the Internet?

Your question about SiteRemote:

As SiteRemote 1.5 is out for nearly two years and SiteRemote is running properly if the system requirements have been considered is there anything missing on the system from what is listed in the system requirements?
http://www.provisio.com/en-US/SiteRemote/SystemRequirements.aspx

Did you follow the installation instructions of the PDF brochure?

If you did all these things:
The error message says: Error reading configuration information from the registry.

userName="registry:HKLM\Software\PROVISIO\SiteRemote\Identity,username" password="registry:HKLM\Software\PROVISIO\SiteRemote\Identity,password" />

Do the registry entries exist?
- “HKLM\Software\PROVISIO\SiteRemote\Identity,username”
- “HKLM\Software\PROVISIO\SiteRemote\Identity,password”

If they exist, check if the users SITEREMOTEADMIN and SITEREMOTE have the permission to read "HKLM\Software\PROVISIO\SiteRemote\"

The SiteRemote issue seems to have resolved itself somehow, as we are no longer seeing the issue. However, all kiosks are still getting the abnormal terminations ever few minutes. The kiosks are connecting to our SiteRemote server via a private WAN. I sent the log files you requested to you via e-mail.

All kiosks were working fine for about 3 weeks, and they all started having the issue on the same day.

Hello,

regarding your description it seems that this is about a known bug of SiteKiosk 6.5.

But this issue on only happens under the following circumstances:
You have selected "Local TCP/IP network (Intranet/Router)" at -->Management-->Connection in a registered version of SiteKiosk 6.5.150 but you have no connection to the Internet.

It does not happen if you have access to the Internet or if you have selected “No Connection”.
It does not happen in SiteKiosk 6.2.51 and has been fixed again in SiteKiosk 6.6 (RC1).

But please note:
The version 6.2.51 is not suitable if you have installed the IE7 and SiteKiosk 6.6 RC1 is not a final version (but stable yet).
