Support Request: SiteKiosk machines appears offline at SiteRemote

Good Morning,

We have 5 machines with WindowsXP and SiteKiosk. One of them is running sitekiosd 6.6 and the others sitekiosd 6.2. We use siteremote and we have ensure that siteremote shows machines offline and really this machines are working. We use for the connection wireless modems- idalup connection.

When a machine gets the status offline al siteremote, it doesn´t change to online untill we go to restart the machine and sitekiosk. We cannot get real reports about this machines or do jobs (remotely with siteremote).

Can you help us?

Hello,

if you are sure the terminals are online AND SiteKiosk is running, what happens if you use "Refresh" button in SiteRemote?

Did you setup an idle time for the dialup connection?

Whith the machines online and sitekiosk running, when we refresh siteremote panel the machines seem to be offline, they don´t change their status.
In fact we think we have problems with the connections. We have wireless dial-up modems, with phone cards, and they depend on the phone red. We want to know if it could be any reason whay we have this problem (configuration, etc) apart from the connection, something we could have miss, or is this (the connection) what is causing this kind of errors.

Hello,

if the internet connection via port 8086 is working properly the SiteKiosk terminal connects to SiteRemote at start up and also again within the time span you have set in the SiteRemote configuration.

The only thing to configure is to activate the Remote Monitoring in the SiteKiosk configuration and to enter the login data.

Therefore it seems that this is more a problem with the connection itself or the connection settings.

As you seemingly have network connection via dial-up, did you set up an idle time that the terminals are going offline if the network connection is not in use?
It might be that it only seems the terminal is online and the Start page is shown from the internet cache data. Then you should deactivate the idle time.


You might also try to activate the “Check internet connection feature” to be sure the terminal is online?
