Support Request: Autostart + autologin

Description

Dear Support Team,

I am having a problem with the autostart functionality with Sitekiosk.

What I want :

- My PC to login automatically at PC start-up
- Sitekiosk to start automatically at windows start-up
- Not using the sitekiosk "autologin' feature (This is a requirement from our customer)

What actually happens :

If I set an autologin in the Windows registry and do not activate the autologin feature in Sitekiosk. Sitekiosk is just considering there is no autologin set and overwrite my autologin in the registry with "NO Autologin".

Therefore, My PC autologin is deleted by Sitekiosk.

In few words : I only want Sitekiosk to start automatically, that's it, no touching the registry regarding the autologin values.

The autologin functionality should be left to the system administrator of our customer.

Can you help me ? I have seen an exact similar request which did not end to offer a solution to this problem : Ticket ID: 9859

Hello,

If you don’t want to use the restricted SiteKiosk user account for auto login and auto start SiteKiosk you can use the custom start settings.

In the custom start settings you can specify the Windows user to log on automatically at system startup.
Don’t forget to disable the option “Settings only apply to restricted SiteKiosk user account”.

You even can use the custom start settings without enabling auto login (only enable SiteKiosk auto start). Then you can set the auto login on Windows manually afterwards.

Dear Michael,

Thank you for your fast answer.

However, the solution you proposed me has already been tried and this is exactly what my problem is about.

- I set my autologin in the registry (AutoAdminLogon=1) If I restart the PC = OK the autologon is working
- I launch Sitekiosk with the "Customized" mode
* “Run Sitekiosk automatically at Windows startup (auto start)”
* “Autostart without shell replacement”
* “Settings only apply to the restricted Sitekiosk user account” = UNCHECKED
* “log on automatically at system startup” = UNCHECKED
- I reboot the PC = KO the autologon is not working anymore
- I check the registry string AutoAdminLogon=0

For me it is clear that Sitekiosk has deactivated my autologon by setting the "AutoAdminLogon" at 0.

For Sitekiosk, if I don't check the "Logon automatically ..", it considers the autologon at "0" and edit the registry !

Please help me finding a solution.

That is a dedicated behavior if you apply the custom settings with auto logon deactivated.
But you even can use the custom start settings without enabling auto login and set the auto login on Windows manually afterwards.

Otherwise there is no reason not using the auto login setting of SiteKiosk. SiteKiosk is just using regular Windows settings to auto logon a user
