Description

Hi,

The following document does not load correctly when accessed through SiteKiosk

https://www.qld.gov.au/seniors/documents/legal-finance-concessions/seniors-card-application-form.pdf

I have changed SiteKiosk to open this with the default program (Adobe PDF) which reports the corrupt is corrupt however this loads fine when SiteKiosk is not used.

Can you please assist?

Are you getting an error when you try to display the PDF? If you disable the Reader plug-in in IE so that the PDF will open in the Reader application, you will need to allow downloads. With the default settings of opening the PDF in the browser, that is not necessary in my tests the PDF opened in the browser without an issue in both the Chrome and IE options in SiteKiosk. If I disable the Reader plugin so that the PDF opens in Reader the only change I needed to make was to allow downloads. What happens if you use the Chrome option in SiteKiosk? Do you get different behavior with the IE browser in SiteKiosk if you allow downloads?

I have done further investigation into this, the files that the Chrome browser in SiteKiosk is downloading are GZIPed. Using 7zip I am unable to open them and extract the PDF. I assume this is suppose to happen automatically when the browser downloads the file.

The files open fine using the IE browser in SiteKiosk but fail with Chrome in SiteKiosk.

All browsers separate to SiteKiosk work fine.

Can you please advise on a fix which will ensure the Chrome browser in SiteKiosk will open the files are intended.
