Support Request: message log overflow

Description

Hello,
we have a several android's machines and we are not able to resolved one problem.

We still receive these alerts on monitoring on sitekiosk server (Windows server):

"The SiteRemote server received an unusual number of log entries within a short period of time. This resulted in an activation of the internal throughput limit. To conserve server resources, no more log messages will be received and recorded until the generated log volume is reduced significantly."

there is a little part of log file from one machine:

On the machines there is only campaing with jpg file.

I tried to change config on server and expand a limit:

<LogManager.config LogMessagesLimit="10000" LogMessagesLimitTimeMinutes="1440" ClientLogBufferLimit="50000" LogFileCompressionAgeDays="62" LogFileDeletionAgeDays="367">

also I tried to change log level on machines for ERRORS only

but I think it does not solve a problem...

Hello,

After changing the limit value(s) in the “SiteRemoteServer.config” you need to restart the SiteRemote Server Service (or even the server machine).

The limit may was reached because of the [SiteCaster POPAI] entries as the campaign is just 5 seconds long.

Alternatively you can use the “Log Message Transfer Filter” settings in your team (-->Adminsitration-->Settings) to deactivate the transfer of [SiteCaster POPAI] entries (disable the checkbox at “Digital Signage (SiteCaster POPAI)”).
But note that the reports on SiteRemote will be created from the log information the client(s) transfer to SiteRemote.
In that case you can’t create any report anymore using the [SiteCaster POPAI] entries as basis (e.g. “POPAI Digital Signage” custom.xml)-


General Information about the warning “Message Log overflow”:
The warning “Message Log overflow” just means that there where a irregular high number of SiteKiosk log file entries in a certain time (more than 10000 in 24h). In that case SiteRemote stops the log transfer of the machine to SiteRemote for a while and throws that alert.

It is meant as help to check a machine which maybe has problems (which problems have occurred need to be analyzed by checking the error messages in the local log files or later at SiteRemote when more log messages have been transferred).

After solving the issue SiteRemote automatically receives the outstanding log information.
But it can take some hours or even 1-2 days (depends on how long the issue has occurred) until the log files on SiteRemote are up-to-date.
This depends on how much outstanding log information still must be transferred from the client to SiteRemote.
