Support Request: view pressdisplay

Description

hello,

in our library we have a membership for pressdisplay and pressreader.
on our desktop machines without sitekiosk it works fine.
on our desktop machines with sitekiosk the page does not load. it seems that the viewer does not load.

is there a reason/setting that stops the content from showing.
we closed the contentfilter but that did not solve the problem.

looking forward for your solution,
with kind regards

Hello,

Which IE version is installed in your computer?
Did you check the page in Internet Explorer on that system?
Is there a difference when starting SiteKiosk in Run Once mode?
You may even check if it works in SiteKiosk (provided it works in IE) when deactivating the checkbox “Add "SiteKiosk" to user agent header” at -->Start Page & Browser-->Advanced”.
(First test in “Run once” mode).

Hello,

Did you also check the SiteKiosk log to exclude that this is caused by any restrictions you configured in the “Surfing Area” settings?

Otherwise you may send your SiteKiosk configuration with the current log file and the description about how to reproduce this problem to
support-europe(at)provisio.com

Hello,

I have tested the web page in Internet Explorer first and it turned out that it requires the Internet Explorer 5!! Mode.

But you can get it work in SiteKiosk when setting the SiteKiosk Browser to IE7 mode.
To do this open the configuration you are using (…\SiteKiosk\Config\YourConfig.skcfg) with an editor like Notepad and look for this line:

<ie8-compatibility-view enabled="true"/>

Then set the value to false:

<ie8-compatibility-view enabled="false"/>

SiteKiosk needs to be started TWICE for the setting to take effect so start SiteKiosk then close it right after it start and run it again to test the issue.
