Are you able to provide any examples? What site you are using? Are you using the screensaver or clicking logout?

When you use IE as the browser, closing the browser windows will clear the cache and log out and back in. Chrome doesn't do this unless you actually click log out.

The two different browsers may behave differently so at the least, for both browsers, when the screensaver is activated it should clear the cache and cookies. Also clicking logout will do the same for both.
