Support Request: Multiple SiteKiosk licenses in enterprise environment

Description

Hi!
In an enterprise environment where automation is a must and SiteKiosk is packaged and distributed to several Kiosk computers.
What is the recommended approach to assign licenses to the different SiteKiosk computers when SiteKiosk licenses is bought in different batches?
Prefered is to have one master license on all machines and be properly licensed behind.
It is difficult to handle different licenses on different computers in same environment in an automated way.
Is SiteRemote server the only way to manage these licenses in a automated efficient way? Or is there other options?

Hello,

You can add the license information manually with using the SiteKiosk configuration tool or remotely by using a corresponding job you send via SiteRemote.

Alternatively you can use the tool “SKStartup.exe” that is included to SiteKiosk.
You can execute that tool with parameters to add the license information.

It should look like this when you just want to add the license information:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\SKStartup.exe" /l "Name - x License(s)" /s xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

Or like this if you also want to add the start settings:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\SKStartup.exe" /i"C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\startup.xml" /l "Name - x License(s)" /s xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

Also see item “1.3 Customized” > sub item “7 Export SiteKiosk startup options”:

Furthermore make sure starting the cmd.exe with admin rights (run as administrator) before executing the SKstartup.exe within.

Alternatively you can use a reg file for adding the license information.
The SiteKiosk license information are stored in the Windows registry:
32-bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PROVISIO\SITEKIOSK
64-bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\PROVISIO\SiteKiosk
The entries "licensee" and "signature" containing the license name and license code.

Example (on Windows x64):

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\PROVISIO\SiteKiosk]
"licensee"="Name - x License(s)"
"signature"=" xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx"
