Support Request: Start Page not loading and Quick Start menu don't show options

Description

I've installed SiteKiosk in two PCs here, using Windows 7 SP1 64 bit. Both aren't loading the start page that I've set in Start Page Browse, and when I start SiteKiosk it doesn't comes up with the Quick Start Menu, just go straight to the page that I'm attaching to this request.

The page loaded says: A start page is either not defined or is unreachable.

My start page is a local html file that is inside SiteKiosk/Html/MySystem folder.

I'm using Administrator user, and tried to uninstall and install SiteKiosk again, even using Run as Administrator.

I've tried using proxy and without proxy.

Tried many things that actually I don't know what else to do.

It's working in another PC in the same place, but not on those two others.

Could you clarify it for me please?

Hello,

I am sorry but SiteKiosk 8.8 is out of support.

You may completely uninstall SiteKiosk (choose “Change” in the Windows Software menu instead of “Uninstall” and tick the checkbox to delete all data during the uninstallation process) and install again.

Otherwise you may check with the most current SiteKiosk version:

Ok, but would you have any advice about this besides uninstall and install again?

You may first review the start page URL setting at “Start Page & Browser” in the SiteKiosk configuration or even create a new configuration and first only configure start page URL and password.
You may also compare the Windows system and SiteKiosk settings with the systems where it works.
Or you copy the configuration & local html files from the system where it works.

Basically I copied the same config file, and the system folder from the Kiosk where it's working. Just to make sure it was the same.

Hello,

The screenshot just shows the default page that is displayed when you didn’t configure a start page URL or (with older versions) when the start page URL is not accessible.
The proxy setting doesn’t matter with a local html file.
With older versions you can even disable the quick start dialog with a checkbox in the quick start dialog but this is reset when reinstalling SiteKiosk.

You just should copy the *.skcfg at “…\SiteKiosk\Config” and the folder “MySystem” at “…\SiteKisok\Html".
Then open the configuration by double clicking the skcfg file and verify the Start page URL (you may also check with the test button or choose the HTML file again by using the folder button).

Otherwise check with the most current SiteKiosk version for getting further support:
