Support Request: Transfer from Windows 7 to Windows 10

Hi Support,

I'm looking to upgrade the windows on my PCs that have sitekiosk installed from Win 7 to Win 10.
Can i use my sitekiosk in Win10 and also how do i transfer the licenses, i will be using the same PC that they are currently installed on.

and would i need to use the latest version?

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. Version 9.5 is no longer supported, however, it works with both Windows 7 and 10. It is best to uninstall SiteKiosk before updating to Windows 10 and then install SiteKiosk again. You can keep using your current version by matching the version and build numbers here- https://www.provisio.com/en-GB/Downloads/VersionHistory.aspx .

You can find your licensing information by clicking the Registration button in the Configuration Editor. You can use the Prepare USB Stick feature (adds a file to the root directory) to help with registering your SiteKiosk version during reinstall. If it doesn't work, just enter it manually.

Though we advocate using the newest version always, that option mainly depends on your financial planning and technical situation, if you consider it viable. There will be a cost for renewing "support and updates" for another year. Of course, with uninstalling and reinstalling, you would need to back up your files:

Configuration - C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\Config (*.skcfg files, ignore *skcfg.local)
Start Screen - C:\Users\Public\SiteKiosk\content (the entire folder).
Media Content - C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\Html (images, videos, html folders, PDFs etc.)
