Support Request: Configuring SiteKiosk to Run a Background Program at Startup

Description

Dear SiteKiosk Support Team,

I am reaching out to you with a specific inquiry regarding the configuration of SiteKiosk. My aim is to have SiteKiosk run a program in the background each time it starts, in a manner akin to how the Windows operating system would. What I seek to achieve is for the user interacting with the SiteKiosk interface to benefit from the functionality of the background program without having the ability to open or view its settings.

I have looked into your documentation and forums but have not found a clear guide explaining how to carry out this setup. Could you provide me with detailed instructions or direct me to the appropriate resources to accomplish this?

I appreciate your prompt response and assistance with this matter in advance.

Sincerely,
Alan Beguiristain,

Dear Mr. Beguiristain,

the standard settings of SiteKiosk are intended to provide kiosk end users with the ability to use and work with additional applications. Therefore what you are looking for is only possible with additional scripting. See for example this Developer Blog Post https://devblog.provisio.com/post/2017/12/18/How-to-Build-an-Extended-Script-Watchdog-for-External-Applications.aspx, which you would have to edit to use the isMaximized (https://www.sitekiosk.com/helpconsole/SiteKiosk%20Object%20Model%20Help/en-US/default.htm?windowlist_ismaximized_mth.htm) and Minimize function (https://www.sitekiosk.com/helpconsole/SiteKiosk%20Object%20Model%20Help/en-US/default.htm?windowlist_maximize_mth.htm) instead of their counterparts the script is currently using.

Please note that custom scripting is not part of our included support options. Help with scripts is available on request (https://www.sitekiosk.com/eu/contact/).
