Support Request: Error 2753: The File 'skpcdsvc.exe1' is not marked for installation.

Description

This error "Error 2753: The File 'skpcdsvc.exe1' is not marked for installation" is coming up every time the pc starts. If we hit ok and cancel twice it loads into SiteKiosk without issue but this happens every time the pc is rebooted.

Thank you for your inquiry. You may need to reinstall the software to see if that helps. You are receiving this message as there is an attempt by the system to reinstall SiteKiosk. When you log into your admin user, you will need to back up your configuration and other support files:

Configuration - C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\Config (*.skcfg files)
Start Screen - C:\Users\Public\SiteKiosk\content (the entire folder).

Do we need to use the version that is currently in use on the machine, or should we use the newest version.

Hello,

It depends on whether your license is updated to support the new version and also if the OS can support it. For example, SiteKiosk Classic ver 9.7.x works with Windows 7, 8 and 10 but not 11. Whereas ver 9.8.x works with Windows 8 and 10 but not 11, or SiteKiosk 9.9.6466 works with Windows 10 and 11 only.

I am getting this same error when I try to uninstall the current version.
