This means that all web pages (as well as all new windows) will be displayed in full screen mode.
2. Full screen mode for certain Web addresses and paths:
This feature allows you to specify HTML pages that will be displayed in full screen mode. For example, you could display the Start Page in full screen mode and then switch to displaying the toolbar when the user navigates somewhere else.
When you enter the paths, proceed as follows:
- If you want SiteKiosk to display all the pages under http://www.cnn.com without the toolbar, then enter this URL only.
- If you want SiteKiosk to display only certain parts of a site without the toolbar, please enter the path that leads to this folder: http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/
- If you want SiteKiosk to display only certain pages without the toolbar, please enter the complete URL: http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/index.html
- You can also make use of wildcard characters such as "*." The URL http://*.cnn.* will then display all pages in full screen mode that contain .cnn..
3. Always hide scroll bars in full screen mode (IE only)
This option is intended for full screen mode or when in combination with the use of
Touch screen keyboards. Scroll bars within frame structures will be retained.
For technical reasons this option is only available with the Internet Explorer browser engine.
4. Hide taskbar in full screen mode
This option also allows you to hide the optional window bar (also known as taskbar), which you will find at the bottom of your screen.
5. Tips and recommendations
- If you want to deploy HTML pages stored on your local hard drive (file://), you can also specify $(SiteKioskPath) as an alternative variable for your installation directory (rather than, e.g. c:/program files/sitekiosk).
- When using on-screen keyboards in full screen mode, you should disable the scroll bar. The on-screen keyboard allows scrolling.
- Even if the toolbar is hidden, it will still be possible to use certain key combinations.
