Support Request: Digital signage video stop playing

Description

Im using site remote digital signage to broadcast commercials on my computers as a screen saver
the video is a 1920X1080 MP4 codec .264
the video play fine in a loop but after an hour or less it stop playing and the screen stays black
i tried that with few computer and same result , i also tried making a campaign with 2 channels top is the video bottom is JPG
after few minutes the video stop playing and the JPG is still showing
any idea how to fix it?
the video also play fine when playing locally with media player
im using win 7

Hello,

I have tested your video on a default installation of SiteKiosk using the digital signage options as the startpage and the screensaver, the video played ok for over 6 hours (machine left on overnight)... also was not able to replicate on a SiteKiosk Android device.

First of all you may check if it is possible to reduce the video file size by converting the video to another format (using the h264 codes) and/or another resolution.
e.g. Handbrake is a little free tool that also provides presets for different devices:
http://handbrake.fr/
That will save traffic and time for publishing the video(s) to the terminals.

When e.g. using an Android Tablet it even doesn’t make any sense to display videos with HD resolution.
Generally you should use the resolution the display of your client does provide.


Otherwise you can also create a HTML file where you embed the video file (stored locally or at the web) to.

You should test it first without SiteKiosk using the installed browser (on Windows the isntelled Internet Explorer / on Android the preinstalled Browser).
Then you e.g. store the video file to a local folder or a web server and then just upload the HTML with the digital signage feature to display it.

Hi
i dont know why yo see the video ok
but like i said i see it good for couple of hours and after that it stop playing and in the monitor tab i see an error of digital player couldn't play the file
also sometimes after the computer wakes from sleep mode it doesnt show the video only after restart
and about the video size i used the .264 codec any specific converter to use?
