Support Request: Non Stop print jobs in SiteKiosk acct

Description

Print jobs continue repeatedly(as if the spooler is stuck) while in the Site Kiosk user acct and will not stop unless I manually shutoff the printer for several minutes. When running SiteKiosk under the admin acct all print jobs spool correctly.

You may need to check the print settings of the SiteKiosk Restricted User Account:

To resolve or further troubleshoot this issue you will have to change the settings in the SiteKiosk Restricted User Account (because this is the account SiteKiosk uses when set to run in AutoStart). Please follow the below instructions to lift the restrictions on the Limited User Account so you will be able to make the necessary changes for your printer. I would advise that whatever printer settings you have in the Administrator account, just do the same for the SiteKiosk Restricted User Account.

Steps for removing restrictions from SiteKiosk Limited User Account and changing the settings for your printer:

1. Log on to the terminal as the administrator

2. Select Start > All Programs > SiteKiosk > System Security Manager

3. In the System Security Quick Start screen, select ‘Unprotected’ and click the ‘OK’ button

4. The next screen will ask you to “Do you want to apply the changes now?”, click the “yes” button

5. It will go through the setting changes (which may take a few minutes), then will state that it is “Finished – Please click OK”, and click the “OK” button

6. On the ‘Settings Changed Successfully’ window, select the “Exit Wizard” option and click “OK”

7. Select Start > Log Off Administrator

8. Log on to the terminal as SiteKiosk Restricted User. Default login information are Username: SiteKiosk, Password: provisio (the password is case-sensitive)

9. Change the settings and/or test the printer in the Windows environment to make sure that it is working. You are now able to set the printer as the default printer in the SiteKiosk Restricted User Account (in control panel) Note: Since you turned off the security settings to this account, you now have
full access to the computer and are now able to perform previously blocked tasks, such as right click, access the control panel, access folders and drives, etc

10. Repeat Steps 1-5, except change the selection of “Unprotected” to “Protected” in Step 3.

11. Run the SiteKiosk software and test the changes that you made to the Restricted User Account.
