Support Request: SiteRemote Fails to open DigitalSignage - Refreshes back to main Page

Description

On Multiple computers and browsers I have tried to access the Digital Signage page in SiteRemote. Each time I click, it attempts to load the page then redirects back to the homepage. I have had silverlight installed on the browsers and enabled. I run it on IE11 using compatibility mode. I have even followed these directions. I could really use some help with figuring out why this is happening.

You can login to SiteRemote 4 and use the other features successfully but when you click the Digital Signage tab, you are logged out and sent to the SiteRemote login page. Is that correct? or when you say homepage do you mean the main overview page after you login and you are still logged in?

If this were the issue with the xap file it would keep prompting you to download an installer for the SiteCaster web setup.

In the current version, SiteRemote 5, will not display correctly in compatibility view in IE11. Have you also replicate the issue in Firefox?

You are correct in stating the page after login. It returns me to the overview page.

When I try in firefox or google Chrome, I get an Error 404 page in both browsers. Ironically using IE11, I need compatibility to be able to interact with the page despite the warnings of incompatibility. If I do disable it, It wont display properly or allow me to browse the site.

The IE11 is not supported with the old SiteRemote 4.1 version. You can update to SiteRemote 5 for IE11 compatibility.

When using Firefox you also need to consider “7. Note if using a self-signed certificate for the SiteRemote web page and Firefox” from page 1:

Also please ensure the xap file was copied over properly. Due to the way Silverlight handles certificates all customers using their own SiteRemote Server need to update the Digital Signage component to keep using it after the 23rd November 2013.

Hello,

In my first post, I have stated that I did update the .xap for for SilverLight on the server. This has been suggested before.

For now we have turned on the old and failing physical machine that we were running before to try and keep it working. IE 11 does work with the site. You can tell me it is unsupported but it works just fine with compatibility mode enabled.

This issue is server side with Silverlight beyond just replacing that single .xap file.

I was just asking you to ensure that file was properly saved since there is no known issue with this. Your server license was purchased in 2013. You will need to update your license to upgrade to the current version and renew your support. SiteRemote 4 is no longer supported. Please contact us at sales-us(at)provisio.com for a quote to update your SiteRemote Server license.
